For an eligible citation, a court may allow an approved Driving Safety Course as part of dismissal. Completion alone does not dismiss every ticket. Citation type, license status, prior course use, timing, and other statutory or court requirements can matter. Confirm your case with the court first.
TDLR describes a driving safety course as six hours, including at least one hour of breaks. A provider’s advertised pace does not change court deadlines or certificate processing time.
Read the citation and contact the applicable court. Ask how to request permission, which course is acceptable, what fees and documents are required, and when everything is due. Do not treat one city’s process as a statewide procedure.
Keep the completion certificate and follow the court’s submission instructions. A court may also require a driving record, affidavit, or other documents. Procedures and deadlines vary, so retain proof of submission and verify that the court completed your case.
